The Galveston Hash House Harriers is the Galveston chapter of what is frequently referred to as "the international drinking club with a running problem." This tradition was started in 1938 by a group of British expatriates stationed in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. "Hashers" run, or jog, on a pre-set trail of about 3-5 mi. A typical Hash has a beer-check and is followed by food, plentiful refreshment, and much conviviality at a bar or restaurant close to the hash site.
The Galveston H3 chapter was founded by Jason "Sleds and Turds" Elkins June 2001. We run monthly in the Galveston area year-round. New Boots (i.e. first timers) are encouraged to bring old shoes and a sense of humour (you do not have to be in good shape to participate). Visitors are always welcome.
